<p>The Woodland Kingfisher is a highly vocal bird recognized by its bright electric blue and white plumage. Despite its name, this species rarely fishes. Instead, it hunts insects, lizards, and small frogs from a fixed perch, diving quickly and returning to the same branch. As a seasonal migrant across sub Saharan Africa, it follows the rains and establishes its territory with a loud, descending call.</p>
